🪐 How many plot points does it take to write a fantasy space opera series debut?
More than 23. It’s getting harder n harder to keep the world of JAR to myself
I had one of those frenzied strikes of writing inspiration and I wrote 23 plot points in one night. Here they are.
I realized pretty quickly the next morning that they can’t be the only 23 plot points; this is a complex and layered high-fantasy so I’ll likely be writing plot points for the rest of the year (I’m joking but also not really). I follow the Save the Cat beat sheet (although I do plan on using different outlines later on in the drafting process).
This is not a comprehensive story outline or even a solidified section of the final draft. Maybe not one of the plot points will make it into the final draft. I mean, I hope one does. And you could say you saw it here first :)
I censored my characters’ real names, so instead you’ll find Blue, Orange, Purple, Green, Yellow, Grey, Dark Pink, Light Pink, and Black. I’ve got quite the cast, and they are what pushes me forward on the toughest days 🩵🧡💜💚💛🩶💖💗🖤

On that, I should get back to the draft. Life is moving so fast and I have a lot of Life Circumstances that just don’t make it feasible to dedicate hours of uninterrupted time to writing, no matter how much I may like to. I love writing and I love my story but I also love my family and my mental health and those things are requiring a bit more time and energy at the moment. And that’s okay.
